Busy and happy...The Holidays are almost here and much excitement in preparation.
Theo is starting Winter Break, today is last day of classes. He's very excited.
We're saying bye to friends that travel "home" for the Holidays and spending time with others staying here. New friends coming to our lives, running into dear old friends on the Skyrtrain.
Little pleasures: a good dose of chili and chocolate on a personal lunch break.
A few last minute orders for understanding customers that can wait a bit (even if the necklaces arrive after Christmas).
A couple of days away in Whistler in our horizon.
Lately, some new necklaces to share here in my blog:

One of the things that I've enjoyed during the sale is to see how different people like different things. One feels attracted to bright colors, other to the more muted...some like abstract designs, other prefer the figurative.
That's a great thing and it fascinates me to watch people gravitate to something or another.
However, during the fair I've noticed some of my pieces where picked up the most. Attractive for some reason for a good number of persons passing by and here's my list of the "popular" ones:
Antonia's Harvest- square tile
sonn to be uploaded to the etsy shop
and finally, another sweet bird that I'll also add to the shop when I have the chance
I'm about to dive into color exploration to enrich my collection - I'll show you the progress - what is your favorite color?

The craft sale- so much fun- such a good time! I wasn't expecting to have such a nice time.
The people were generous and warm in their feedback - I was happy and excited to sell. And most of all, it was a pleasure to share it with my friend Tamar.
(Tamar- the beautiful gypsy on the left and me)
We hardly stopped talking for a minute!
She did awesome with her beautiful jewelry.
I'm pretty sure her shop will soon be online.
Close to the end, I got the visit of a sweet little helper: Theo.
He ate everything edible in the fair, drank hot chocolate, memorized my price list (without me asking him) and at the end he helped me pack the unsold pieces into little bags (he carefully counted 5 pieces per bag as I've instructed him to do)
On our way home, he got a present for being so good: a magnetic drawing board.
Drawing is one of his favorite games these days!

When I was pregnant with my first boy I thought that once he was born I would have this working setting: I'd work on one side of the big bed with my laptop, and he'd play quietly or sleep by my side. That would last for a couple of hours and then, when I was done, we would play and cuddle together.
Seriously. I thought that.
It's funny how little you know when you embark in some things. Luckily!
After 5 years and a master course in babies, toddlers, young kids and humility I know better.
Last Saturday though, my fantasy came true and I was able to work with a myriad of miniature, delicate things, all exposed around me on the floor, and both my kids just by my side...this lasted for half a hour but I felt happy and blessed - finally!
Add to that some rare fall sunshine in Vancouver and you could think you're in Nirvana

My mom sewn little bags to mail my little pieces. She has always supported all my creative adventures since early on. When I started making paper I used to cover ALL the windows of our nice apartment in Buenos Aires with wet sheets until they were dried. They created a constant mess and blocked the vision completely, but she would allow it in her home- just to support my endeavours.

Welcome October...I'm working on new pieces that I'll soon update to my Etsy Shop.
Some days I spend so much time over a piece...exploring the possibilities...I'm so happy when things turn out beautifully and it's always a struggle when I cannot come up with what I have in mind.
Some days I really struggle over technical process and colors so much that I end up asking myself what's the point of doing this? At all?
Then next morning I just accept that I'm currently riding a powerful creative wave- I feel it has its own intelligence, and as many other times in my life, I know it's wise to follow obediently :)
In the meantime, my main goal is to balance the creations and creatures, the latter being the most important of all.
We've been doing masks- A hit!

Many reasons have kept me away from this blog.
Reasons of the Sweet visit of Mom kind, of the Birthday(s) kind and of the starting kindergarten kind.
I'd like to share a work in progress here...Sisters ...soon to be named
And also, a delicate vintagey necklace in pale colors: Eva in Oslo (Long version)
