It has to be quick art- made in stolen moments...
So far, very fun. I'm inspired. No expectations.

Afraid of villains and thieves I'm not...
While I've decided against newspaper packaging for my jewelry, the call of this paper is powerful. What could we do? This little book and I?
I'm thinking of it...

of various kinds...
I was reading "Crave" Seatle, a brochure featuring women entrepreneurs.
Sara Eizen, an interior decorator says she is inspired by "mamapreneurs" since they manage to juggle two full-time jobs. Two full-time jobs! Can you imagine that?
I understand it completely- I feel I'm so much there. That's exactly how it feels and still it's difficult to give validation to the work of a mother, to recognize it REALLY as the totally demanding task it is.
No wonder my friends who are moms and I are exhausted most of the time.

Our bedroom decoration hasn't been a priority in our very busy lives...actually it has been on the verge of being neglected for a longer time that is advisable.
I know how much of an impact in your mood and well being, a little of color and art can cause, so at some point, "operation bedroom" had to be started.
I got some nice canvases on sale and after some weeks and some book browsing I've settled on my artwork idea.
I wanted a big size, calm, warm piece of artwork with a touch of vibrant orange, which is the color that has the better impact in my mood (and my husband's too it seems)
I set to work, on the (covered) living room table, with my kids playing around. Sounds easy but painting with 2 little boys around hasn't been even thinkable until only recently, so that's one of the most enjoyable aspects of this little project.
Layer one: simple and fast- totally humble and unambitious.

I felt so happy to find the issue of Traditional Homes in my mailbox today! yeah!
Krissa was super sweet and made an amazing editorial job showing alternative ways to use paper...
Among many beautiful things, my necklaces are featured, can you see them?
Then, when I read the brief text I discovered that my shop was called PALAMORIA instead of PALOMARIA...I guess it's the consequence of having chosen a name with a Spanish root.
Just for search engine purposes let me tell you Google just one thing: PALAMORIA - Yes it's me :)
Nevertheless I'm thrilled and a few very nice women have reached me thanks to this wonderful publication- Thanks a lot Krissa!

I'm starting some paintings to decorate our neglected room. Doesn't look so good now but I plan to wash this bright colors with lots of white to create a calm effect (with a touch of vibrant though)...more to come...
Speaking of colors...PalomariaWhisper is finally online. The subtler, more earthy side of my jewelry collection.

Ok, I have a question for you.
I've been pondering about my packaging design for a time now. I'm playing with ideas that are both visually interesting and efficient in terms of mailing.
Something that came to me recently and made total sense for a while was to use newspaper for my packaging.
Since my prime material is recycled newspaper, for a day or two I've considered the newspaper little package brilliant. Ecofriendly and a true statement.
Then I had a couple of not-so-great reactions from close friends.
I thought I'd share the question here: Newspaper for my jewelry packaging yes or no?
(Let me add that this little package will go into a nice manila envelope for mailing)
Is the newspaper a statement you'd appreciate for recycled paper jewelry or will it shock you as too coarse and raw?
Your opinions are truly welcome and will help me with my creative efforts!
