Victoria

My mom's visit of 2 months was concluded with a weekend away in Victoria, on Vancouver Island. Although short, this little trip was for me a pleasure bomb.

Beautiful and dramatic scenery from the Ferry

The Undersea Gardens. A bit creepy for my taste but very exciting for the kids. Specially the octopus and Wolf eel. Theo drew all the sea creatures on his little notebook after the visit.

Driving through rural Victoria in October

You can tell it's Halloween time

Give me all of them please.

Wherever we go we always hit bookstores (we even do that on evening dates with Pablo!)

A wonderful patio with the most amazing food. Everything you try there is highly delicious. No exceptions.

And little birds must know this well!

Window shot.

Breakfast at the Hotel with a great view of the marina

And later, much enjoyment of this sunny Sunday with a stroll along the seaside.

Isn't it amazing how much pleasure and enjoyment you can find when you don't take things for granted? And how time can stretch so much?

Thanks for stopping by and have a happy week. Enjoy all that life gives you for free!

Floral experiments

I've been doing lots of experiments with my dear flowers.
I'm coloring the clay directly which allows for deeper, more intense color.

I have many new pieces ready to be photographed but little time to do it.
I'll be updating slowly but surely in the coming weeks.

I'm truly happy to report that my darling boy who'll be 4 tomorrow has said bye to diapers and uses the toilet now.

There'll be much cake baking today!

The tunnel

Autumnal viruses have attacked us, imposing day after day of forced indoors staying.
One after the other, the kids, I and now my mom were sick.

Days were spent in much craft/creative activity.

And well used! The most remarkable achievement: Mica has taught himself to use the toilet.
No more diapers!

It's a sunny Saturday morning. The smell of toasted sunflower and sesame seeds in the house.
The kids are playing together a game of their invention: Cars 3. I keep telling them: Invent your own games- don't depend on TV.

Since yesterday Theo has been drawing some amazing tiny stories over entire pages. With a thin red marker, the most endearing spaceships and superheros, with some of his delicious handwriting. I think they're some sort of cartoon.

There will be some jewelry back soon. For now, I'll spend some time reading this most fantastic book

Solid Rustic Silver

I've been working in this one for a long time...probably since April.

I finally managed to wrap it up and I'm happy on how it turned out.

I guess is what you call a "statement" piece.

9 textured hand formed clay beads are painted in a black an silver acrylic patina with a gold bead accent. Very solid and lightweight.

Names

I've been always fascinated by names...it's no surprise I'm so excited making these necklaces now.

The difference is subtle but I like better the new clay results.

Flavour and texture

By this pictures you can tell that my mother is here!

Cookies and gnocchi! Mmmmm....

Have a delicious weekend! Mine is going to involve some talking about the advantages of the toilet over the diaper. It's been an ongoing conversation for the last few months. No many adepts so far!
