The color of the days

We decided to go for one week with a no screen policy for the kids.
No TV, no Ipod, no video games.

No surprise: it's been the best move ever. The kids are calmer inside, more sensitive and open.
Screen world can be so numbing for young (and not so young) sensibilities.

We'll carry on the policy: no screen on weekdays, and some on weekends. No need to be too dogmatic either!

The Brunettes

Two brunettes having fun

Last weekend at the Fair...Are we brunettes? Maybe not?
It's fun that someone asked if we were sisters this year as well.

And a new name necklace.

simple and minimalistic, in gold, cream and with a red bead accent.

Peace and Love!

Rainy Monday

I'm happy to report that the Sale went really well. Tamar and I had a lovely time. We chatted, we munched healthy snacks provided by her, we appreciated the works of the other artisans, really beautiful stuff, and we both had a good number of sales, which made us happy, but most, many super sweet comments from new people as well as from lovely ladies that were hoping to meet us this year since they were so happy with their items from last year!

My boys arrived in the afternoon in some sort of bad shape, bad mood. They weren't having such a great time as me, so it was obvious that the perspective of an unhappy Theo staying for another two hours was a bad idea.

I missed the companion of m little helper. I know it'd have been exciting for him to see the next step for mama's pieces. He sees me everyday spending so much time on my jewelry. It'd have been nice for him to realize that this pieces eventually come out to the world, to the hands of other real people.

Anyway! I'm a very happy girl and will be posting a few photos soon.

And slowly, the photos of new pieces here. This is the first of a few: my Golden Sun Lace earrings.

Have a very good week!

I've been busy getting ready for the All Handmade Craft Sale today.

I look forward to be there with Tamar and with Theo.

A few more pics of Birdie N 2 and new stuff coming soon!

Hello, hello, hello!

I've been away. Long time no see you could say.

It's not that it's been busier than usual (although I'm preparing for a craft sale next weekend), but it's more like I've been slower, less frantic, less multitasking and so the lack of more frequent updates.

I've certainly had my hands on clay and paint and I'll bring photographic evidence in short.

In the meantime I'll share a picture of another version of the bird necklace.

I hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

Custom Necklace

I've received the suggestion for combining 3 elements from different necklaces to create one single piece. This is the result.

What a good idea to put these 3 together, and one it hadn't occurred to me before.

Sometimes the simplest is the hardest to see.

I'll keep trying this in some different colors.

Do you have any suggestion for my jewelry? Whisper it to me! At some point I'll do a giveaway with entries for suggestions for jewelry, the one that I like best wins and I make a custom piece! How does it sound?

Fall Flower Cluster

On this necklace I had the idea of doing something "Fall"

In Vancouver, at this time of the year we're immersed in the most spectacular palette of reds, oranges, yellows and greens. We're lucky enough to have some sunny days yet (before the winter darkness sinks in) so the colors around every corner are simply mind blowing.

You feel happy and energized just to look around. I'm so positively certain that this splash of colors must have some good effect on our brains and hormones!

No matter how much I like this palette on the gorgeous landscape around, I don't think I can translate it to my art without being too cliche.

So a variation of a Fall palette that comes naturally to what I do, would be something like this:

Slate, Chocolate brown and Wine.

Thinking of it, Chocolate and Wine are extraordinary complements for a cozy Fall, aren't they?

I hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

Bridesmaids Custom Necklaces

A while ago, a ver sweet lady saw this necklace from my shop and she liked it.

She asked me if I could make her bridesmaids necklaces in this style.

She sent me this link from the shop where she got her bridesmaids' dresses and indicated the chosen colors:

And that's how I've made my first set of Bridesmaids necklaces

No need to explain further: they're customizable! Let me know the colors and I'll match them in my pieces.

Oh how I loved this idea! What a pretty gift!
