Here comes the Bridal Party!

These are the necklaces with Magenta accents that I've made recently.
Such a beautiful color!

Theo had a cut on the eyelid at school that ended up in a minor surgical procedure with general anesthetic. Very grateful all went well and his eye is in perfect condition! Thanks God for eyelids!

Bridesmaids necklaces

I'm working on a Bridesmaids necklaces custom order based on this one.

The color is pretty- I'll share it soon.

Big Thanks to Emmaline Bride for a beautiful review on my bridal necklaces. Very pretty!

Lightning Bolt

Something fun happened.
One day I had a dream of gigantic lightning bolts.
They were green and really huge. I was contemplating them with my son Mica.

That morning I had a special request of a name necklace. Instead of the letter "S" this woman wanted a lightning bolt.

How amazing is that?

Another preview

I still couldn't photograph the new pieces I'm working on, but this is another brief preview of the upcoming line. A bit rustic, a bit urban. Colorful but nicely toned down by the dark background.

I've cut, sanded and paint a big batch. Then I put it all together, felt happy with the results so far, and decided to add some missing bits. Mainly triangles.

I'll soon paint batch 2 and then it's photo session time. I set myself the goal to have a new Etsy shop for this line up and running in two months from January 1st, and it seems doable. Let's see how it progresses.

I'm glad it's Friday! It means movie night together as a family and a lazy start tomorrow. Maybe an early start as usual, but no pressure to have two kiddies 4 and 6 dressed up and ready to go through the door in an hour. A very trying daily chore I must say!

In process

I'm busy working on some orders and in the new collection. It's a pleasure to make these new pieces. The color on dark flows very nicely and easily. I feel I'm achieving the look I'm after without struggle.

I work in a very cold January morning with plenty of outside light thanks to the snow.

An unexpected pocket of time in my morning: I had to cancel the dentist. At the last minute I've discovered that thinking today was "hot Lunch day" at school for Theo (meaning they bring them the food that you pre-order) I hadn't send him lunch. And Hot Lunch day was tomorrow!

A quick act to cancel dentist, bring food quickly to school before lunchtime and some unexpected free hours to advance on this work.

Fiesta means Party in Spanish and it's the title and inspiration for a series of name necklaces (very appropriate for bridesmaids in a Mexican Fiesta Wedding or casual wedding)
I hope you like them!

Build up

Slowly starting to cut the pieces for the new line.

Some sweet sunshine in the winter! Lucky Vancouver! Lucky me!

Rustic experiments

I've been working in some experimental pieces for the last couple of months, expressing a darker, dirtier, more worn look for my jewelry.

Picking up the thread from the very early days with Palomaria when my pieces looked like this:

The new pieces won't go well in Palomaria since it has turned into a most feminine, romantic side lately.

So I'm planning putting this series in its own little cyber spot. I've estimated I need 2 months to fully develop the beginning of the line and uploading it. Let's see if that's realistic.

Thinking of Valentine's

The light is terrible these days in Vancouver. I have many pictures to take and am waiting for a slightly lighter day. I'm not asking for sun but for less density of clouds, so I may be able to take some decent pictures.

I was thinking that Valentine's day will come soon and my collection could use a couple more hearts.

In the meantime let me share this ultra romantic necklace more or less new in my shop.

Clay, paint and much love!

A New Year started spontaneously dancing with friends. A good way to start I think!

Many relaxed days, with an abundance of time that we enjoyed greatly. Movies on the laptop in bed. (The Lord of the Rings Trilogy)

The kids were happy to be home playing and watching movies too.

Some delicious Panettone, made at home with very decent results.

And on the 1st, an outing to the Canadian wilderness...

Only 40 minutes from home.

The tiny people with a tiny snowman.

Back to work/school today. I miss Theo a bit.

Happy 2012!!
